These were the photos taken by me some time back with an ordinary still camera and not by a digital camera. Rishikesh as someone here may know is a beautiful place full of Ashrams (Monasteries)and few temples.
Rishikesh is about 6 hours travel from New Delhi- the capital of India. Rishikesh is enveloped by Himalaya mountains and has the holy Ganga river. There are shops, internet cafes, and other shopping spots on either side of the river. This is a truly peaceful spot hence liked by western travellers more as they feel it resembles Travel spots in Europe.
Here, You find Sivananda ashram, Swami Dayananda ashram and other ashrams. These ashrams are really peaceful and an ideal place for meditation and contemplation. Those interested in holiday cum spiritual retreat will find this place an ideal spot which would make one to come back to it again and again. |
